The overall objective of the
working group is to promote collaboration and exchange of information among
EWRS members involved in research on chemical weed control to ensure an
optimum use of herbicides in European crop production. Another objective is
to promote the collaboration between researchers in public institutes and
the agrochemical industry. The working group was formed in 1993 in response
to the increased interest in many European to optimise and reduce herbicide
inputs and successfully completed a EU Concerted Action in 1997. The working
group is now the process of initiating new activities.
