Timing of emergence.

The aim of the study is to produce a weed emergence database for S.media and C.album from different sources and in different local climates to eventually test/validate/refine existing weed emergence models. The resulting database will be made available to all members of the working group to use with their own models. However, as a working group it was decided that there should be a formal output from this study. For example a refined model applicable to a wide range of situations using information that is easily and realistically available to the grower. Ultimately a publication, jointly authored by all the collaborating members contributing towards the unique data set, is seen as a major aim.
