EWRS Germination & Early Growth Working Group meeting held at the Brighton Metropole Hotel 15^th November 2001

One working group meeting took place during 2001. This was held after Crop Protection Conference-Weeds in the Metropole Hotel (pictured below) on 15^th November. The meeting was shorter than previous WG meetings and took the format of a ½ day informal discussion.

Main items discussed were;

	Analysis of the data from the joint experiment and brief discussion of results from the joint experiment. Ideas for the format and content of the paper/presentation at the EWRS symposium 2002
	The characterisation of experimental seed from the joint experiment.
	Discussion of protocol for recovering viable seeds at the end of the experiment.
	New ideas for a simple joint experimental ventures that we might like to consider as a group once the present study comes to a close (possibly spring 2003). This would be focussing on the post-germination/pre-emergence growth phase. This will be an opportunity for new members, currently not involved in the joint study but who have expressed a wish to take part, to get involved in the experimentation.
	Major EWRS working group/Association of Applied Biologists collaborative conference and working group workshop for autumn 2003. Ideas for potential suitable visits during the next working group meeting that are local to Reading University, UK.
